Homemade Houmous

Houmous, hummus, potato potata. If you’ve not made you’re own houmous yet you are seriously missing out!

The flavour possibilites are endless. And you just need a nutribullet/food processor. But you could probably get away with just a fork and some patience.

Today I made sundried tomato houmous because I had some spare leftover from another recipe so why not! But the basic houmous recipe is as follows:

1 Can of Chickpeas
1 tbsp Tahini (or use some peanut butter!)
1/2 Lemon juice
1 to 2 tbsp Olive oil

1 Garlic clove
Splash of water to create the right consistency.

Just blend everything together, season with salt & pepper and enjoy!

You could also add some cumin for extra flavour…..or how about these optional extras?

Sundried tomatoes
Coriander (fresh or ground)
Turmeric
Chilli flakes/powder
Paprika

Peppers (from a jar is best)
Olives
Nuts & seeds
Spinach/rocket leaves
Jalapenos

Different types of beans – kidney/black/cannellini

Experiment! And let me know your favourite flavour combinations 🙂
